Our ALE Review Course is comprehensive program that is proven efficient because of our holistic curriculum,  competent academician and high quality teaching materials.  Our approach to teaching is based on a set of values which will train the students to tackle the current trends of the architecture licensure examinations.

overview

The intensive course is develop on three (3) modules designed based on a contemporary approach to architectural training, combining theory and practice through reflection and analysis of design, theory and construction processes, a knowledgeable approach to site and materials, and in developing critical judgment and capacity for synthesis.

 

The syllabus places particular emphasis on theories, history of architecture, architectural practice, building codes, building utilities, building materials, building construction, structural conceptualization and architectural design taking considerations the new trends of architecture licensure examination into account.

Duration & mode of delivery

​

The course is normally around 5.5 Months, Saturday and Sunday, 9:00AM - 6:00PM. 

January Architecture Licensure Exam - Classes starts on 2nd week of August up to 2nd week of December. 

June Architecture Licensure Exam - Classes starts on 2nd week of January up to 2nd week of June.

 

Aligned with the specific aims, emphases and learning outcomes of the course, learning and teaching methods will draw on an appropriate balance of delivery modes. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic, teaching will be delivered through Live Instructed-Led Online and Face to Face (if already allowed).

module 1:  fundamental course

 

Theory, History, Professional Practice, Building Laws and Urban Planning

This is composed of 10 sessions of 8 hours each session of combined studio based lectures, dialogues and workshops, each of which individualized and designed to tackle the Part 1 of Architecture Licensure Examination (ALE). Topics are: Theory of Architecture, Architectural Interiors, Sustainable Design, Tropical Design, History of Architecture, Professional Practice and Ethics, Building Laws, Theories of Urban Planning and pre-board exam on each subject.

Building Science and Structures

This is a 14 sessions of 8 hours each session, encompasses important technical subjects designed to tackle the Part 2 of Architecture Licensure Examination (ALE) are combined with studio-based lectures, workshops, product seminars reinforced with site construction tours. Topics are: Building Materials and Finishes, Building Construction, Plumbing and Sanitary,  Mechanical and Auxiliary Systems, Electrical and Lighting Systems, Acoustics, Communication Systems, Theory of Structures, Structural Conceptualization, Product Seminars and Workshop, Site Construction Tours and pre-board Exam on each subject.

Module 2: PRACTICE-BASED design 

​

Analysis of National Building Code Rule 7/8 

This module is focused on the Philippine National Building Code (PD 1096) Rule 7 and 8 whereby students are taught in-depthly on the 2d and 3d computations of the code compliance. Particular emphasis is given on the case-based problems of different building types concerning computations such as AMBF, USA, ISA, PSO etc including estimates and quantity survey which is repeatedly given in the current architecture board examinations.

Practice-based Studio 

10 sessions of 8 hours per session focusing on studio-based architectural design of various building types. The module is done through intensive lectures brainstorming, and workshops of past board design problems. Topics are: Single Detached/Attached Residential, Duplex Residential, Medium Rise Apartment, Business Building, Commercial Building, Government Dep Ed Extension Building, Truck Hub and Service Center, Fastrip Logistics Development, Design for Covid-19 Pandemic, pre-board Exam and discussions.

Module 3: ULTIMATE refresher and coaching

​

Refresher and Rationalization

A 7-days intense course where students are refreshed from the basic module undertaken. This is normally done through questions and answer forums of past board exam questions where students are equip with the complete knowledge they need for successfully passing the board exam. After the refresher there will be a mandatory mock board exam so students will experience how they would feel given the same exam scenario. Subjects are: Theory of Architecture, History of Architecture, Theories of Urban Planning, Professional Practice and Building Laws, Building Technology, Building Utilities, Structural Conceptualization, Architectural Design and Site Planning.

 

Ultimate Coaching

5 days before the exam, the students are comfortably house in one dormitory or hotel with the Studio Director and Lecturers for personalized coaching. Air or land transportation and accommodation of students from provinces and Singapore  arranged by ArcStudio so students can focus with their studies.

Since our inauguration in 2011, we constantly produces topnotchers for Architecture and Interior Design Licensure Examinations notwithstanding with our passing percentage of 75% to 100%.

Since the Covid-19 Pandemic, all our enrollment are fully done online. You choose the course you want to enroll, we send the registration form then you pay your down payment through bank then you are already enrolled. These steps are very convenient as you can do it at you fingertips.

Our highly qualified lecturers through with our Studio Directors and Researchers have continuously developed a review handbooks for your ALE preparation. Our objective is to provide the students a quality review materials that is tailored in the architecture licensure examinations as well as other for other allied professions. Some of these handbooks are already published and some are still under review by our research arm, the ArcLAB for formal publications.

When I decided to take the board exam, my only goal is to pass. I did not aspire to be a topnotcher because its hard to focus on the review studies during this Covid-19 pandemic.
